The RA distributes the evaluation documentation to the appropriate ISO 20022 Standards Evaluation Groups (SEGs) for validation. The SEGs are groups of industry experts nominated by ISO members, representing the (future) users of ISO 20022 messages. There are currently five SEGs, each covering a specific business domain: payments, securities, foreign exchange, trade services and cards. Over 200 experts from 22 countries and 12 international organisations affiliated with ISO currently participate in the SEGs. Their role is to ensure that your candidate messages truly address the requirements of the community of users they represent. You will be required to participate in the evaluation of your candidate messages. (continued ) RANDOM TESTING Our rst random test was of the online system used to create IDs. We tried creating fraudulent accounts to nd loopholes in process. When we discovered problems, we sent them to the IT department and they came up with solutions. We then randomly tested the authenticity of purchases made by customers. This step was implemented as a recurring test and was done with different client categories and for different types of services. FRAUD HOTLINE Many of Serve s clients reported that they wanted to provide the company with a list of ex-employees who they suspected may have been using a sub-IDs, but they did not have a way to get in touch with Serve. Linden established a hotline to ll this need. TRAINING Trainers are now sent to corporate clients of ces to show them how to use Serve s products and Web site effectively. The trainers make the clients aware of the importance of protecting their IDs, inform them of the safety step that Serve recently implemented and provide them with ways to contact the company later if they want to report suspicious behavior. CONCLUSION This case made it clear to me that threats from Internet fraudsters are continuously evolving to form new fraud avenues. To keep fraud and its perpetrators at bay, it is important to roll out new technologies, identify appropriate regulations and educate consumers of the dangers they face.
